About the Role:

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Head of Quality to join a leading company in the infrastructure and engineering sector. This senior-level position is responsible for shaping and implementing the quality strategy across diverse and complex projects, ensuring the highest standards of operational excellence and compliance.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide leadership and direction to the quality assurance team, championing best practices and continuous improvement.
  • Develop and execute a comprehensive quality strategy aligned with wider business goals.
  • Oversee and enhance quality and business assurance processes across the organisation.
  • Ensure full compliance with industry, client, and regulatory standards.
  • Support project teams and regional leaders in assessing and improving quality measures.
  • Design and implement a risk-based internal audit and surveillance programme to drive improvement.
  • Lead on quality contributions to bids and tenders, presenting a consistent and effective strategic message.
  • Establish and embed a business-wide quality training and awareness programme to nurture a culture of excellence.
  • Represent the quality function in internal stakeholder meetings and external industry forums.
  • Analyse lessons learned, client feedback, and best practice insights to improve future performance.
  • Manage external audits and certification processes to maintain key accreditations.

 

Essential Experience & Skills:

  • Proven success in a senior quality leadership role within infrastructure or engineering sectors.
  • Strong background in complex, multi-disciplinary environments (civil, mechanical, or electrical).
  • Deep understanding of ISO 9001, ISO 14001, and ISO 45001 standards.
  • Experience in managing and maintaining business management systems.
  • Excellent communication, reporting, and presentation skills.
  • Expertise in tender responses and bid quality strategies.
  • Relevant qualifications in engineering or quality disciplines (e.g., Degree/HND/HNC/Diploma).
  • Trained Lead Auditor for ISO standards, particularly ISO 9001.
  • Full UK driving licence.
