Salary: £45,000 - £52,000 + Car or Allowance

About the Role:

We’re supporting a leading utilities and infrastructure contractor in their search for an Environmental Advisor to work across a portfolio of rail, utilities and construction projects. This is a new role within the business and will form part of the wider HSEQ team offering a real opportunity to help shape the environmental approach as the organisation continues to grow.

You’ll support project and operational teams with day-to-day environmental management, ensuring compliance, promoting good practice and providing clear, practical guidance on the ground. The role offers strong exposure to major infrastructure programmes and regular client interface, making it ideal for someone looking to develop further within environmental management.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide environmental advice and support across active infrastructure and utilities projects
  • Carry out site inspections, audits and environmental reporting
  • Support environmental incident investigations and follow-up actions
  • Assist with permits, waste management, materials, pollution prevention and site controls
  • Help project teams understand legislative requirements and good practice standards
  • Contribute to environmental plans, registers and monitoring activities
  • Build strong working relationships with site teams and client representatives
  • Support wider sustainability and environmental improvement initiatives within the region

About You:

  • Experience within construction, civil engineering or utilities environments
  • Ideally some client-facing experience with some of the UK’s major electricity network operators would be highly beneficial
  • Relevant environmental qualification or working toward one
  • ISEP (IEMA) membership or working toward
  • Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel across sites
