HSE Manager – Infrastructure

Location: South of England (ideally west of London)

Salary: £65,000 - £70,000 + car + bonus

 

About the Role:

 

We are supporting a leading infrastructure contractor in the appointment of an experienced HSE Manager to oversee a portfolio of highways projects across the South of England.

 

This role will play a key part in driving a positive safety culture, ensuring compliance with legislative requirements, and supporting operational teams to deliver works safely and efficiently. You’ll be joining a dynamic, forward-thinking environment that values a proactive, can-do attitude and continuous improvement across its projects.

 

Key Responsibilities:

 

  • Lead the implementation of Health, Safety & Environmental strategy across multiple highways projects
  • Provide expert advice and guidance to operational teams, ensuring best practice is embedded on site
  • Conduct audits, inspections and incident investigations, driving continuous improvement
  • Support and influence project teams to promote a proactive and behavioural safety culture
  • Ensure compliance with relevant legislation, industry standards and company procedures
  • Analyse performance data, identify trends and implement improvement plans
  • Engage with key stakeholders including clients, subcontractors and senior leadership
  • Support the development and mentoring of HSE Advisors within the team

 

Key Responsibilities:

 

  • Proven experience in an HSE role within utilities, construction, M&E or infrastructure
  • Knowledge of highways projects / schemes would be desirable
  • Experience working on multi-site or framework-based projects
  • NEBOSH GC ideally Diploma or working towards (or equivalent)
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills
  • Ability to influence and drive behavioural change on site
